Why do some guys text, "how are you cutie" and then not text back when I answer, and ask them how they are?

I, for one, don't have a texting device. I dropped it right after I text "How are you" to someone.

1.: it's hard for some guys to articluate our emotions. 2.: a lot of cell phone text sounds and plans suck. I've had texts take 3 days to reach me. 3.: he's trying to decipher hidden meanings in your words. It's instinct, don't worry about it. 4.: He's drunk/stoned/asleep/at work, and is waiting to finish before texting back. Remember, texting is like email, it wasn't designed to carry a conversation fluidly. 5.: Every guy's different, but these are a few of the most common reasons. Ask your guy why, but be prepared to have your answer cautiously scanned and answered a few hours later.

Men don't text unless it's for your benefit. They're probably texting in order to give you token recognition. The fact that they don't answer is no more relevant than the text in the first place. Don't let yourself put any value on the text, it meant nothing to them. Then you won't be bothered by the lack of a response either.
