  • I also use firefox and I have AVG that is up to date..+5
  • I've been a professional computer programmer for 18 years and was using computers for longer. In all that time I've never had a single virus. Now I use Linux and I'm even less concerned.
  • Unless you have no antivirus and are on a network, there's not much to worry about, so no I'm not concerned.
  • The statement should be "could strike" not "will strike" It is scheduled to be released at midnight local time working from the west to the east. It is not a storm in a teacup. FBI have announced a $200,000 reward leading to the arrest of those responsible. It is set to go at midnight but no one knows if it really will and an updated virus protector will not prevent it. You need to update your Windows system as well. If you can't access Microsoft update then you are already infected.
  • Phhht! I keep my system patched and my AV updated so I don't care.
  • I have made sure that the Windows systems of the people I care about are properly patched (that is, those that don't already have a capable administrator) and my system (GNU / Linux) is not compatible with any Conficker version, so I'm not worried on my own account.
