Yes. I quit after I had my second heart attack. Worked like a charm.

I had actually tried to quit a couple of times, but then I developed a chronic migraine problem in college that got me to stop immediately. After only a couple of cigarettes, I'd get a blinding migraine. That's well over 20 years ago now. I've smoked a very few times since then (after having a few too many beers) and regretted it the next morning when I felt horrible!

I had a traumatic experience when a friend's neighbor died of a heart attack due to smoking. I helped give her CPR and the liquid that came out of her lungs was so disgusting I never smoked again. It wasn't easy. I wanted to smoke, but that image and that smell gave me the strength to hold out till the craving passed. Then I got pregnant and smoke nauseated me so much I would get sick when people around me smoked. Before I knew it, it had been two years since I smoked and I continued to not smoke. It's been almost 9 years.
