  • Although some people are going to say it's a place to get answers, I think that it's a place to socialize as well. We are a tight community. We care about one another and I suppose that some of us can say we made friends on here.
  • I feel that it's both.
  • Hopefully it has the ability to provide us all with the answers we require and to allow us to socialize also.
  • It is both, and I feel that is what makes it what it is. It wouldn't be much fun if people just answered questions and didn't become friends, and want to chat with each other.
  • answers to questions, but you get to know the people who help you, as you reckonise there name and avatar.
  • It is still a stie for questions and answers and also socialisation. And it has become a site full of arguements and debates over religion. It just creates hate and personally I'm sick of it.
  • I think AB is still a place to get answers to questions, but it is heading away from that direction and towards the social arena.
  • I think it's both, and then some. There have been a number of threads that touch on this topic (What do you use AB for?, etc.) One thing that I've NEVER seen in all of these answers -- and haven't posted myself either -- is that one of the things I use AB for is so learn about myself and stretch my own "boundaries". It's not so much that people provide feedback (which is sometimes helpful, of course), but I find that simply working out my thoughts in a public forum forces me to focus and really get clear about what I want to say in a way which doesn't happen just keeping those thoughts in my head. Just knowing that SOMEBODY will probably read it -- even a troll -- provides that extra incentive to be clear, to look a little closer at the different aspects of the topic, and to express it with some creative spin. So for that part of my AB involvement, it really doesn't matter how anybody responds to my postings: it's the act of producing the posting which has the educational value.
  • Both. the socializing is very limited, which is good. too much socializing would make answerbag just another website, like all the rest. Answerbag is like a fine wine, a little tart, but it goes down easy.
  • Both, but as of late, people who post Q's are slacking off in rating their "credible responses", this site is going to suck if that keeps on being the trend. Don't post a Q, if your not going to rate anybody.
  • I think its both and i love it.
  • Yes AB is still a place to ger answers to your questions. Mind you, you can have a social chat with others via the comments field.
  • I feel it is just barely a place to get questions answered and really is becoming more social and more about quantity over quality.
  • Bit of both, sometimes it's just a place to argue...
  • To get answers to their questions and to socialize are certainly among the greatest motivations for people to go on AB. My main reason to go on AB is rather to find answers to the questions that people are asking, and often learn something interesting myself by the process. As far as I can see, there are still enough good answerers on here that many people can get interesting answers to their questions.
  • It's really both. I think it mainly depends on the user. Some come to answer questions and others come to sociolize.
  • I think it's both! When you get here it's because you're looking for something, and then you just can't leave! Learn, laugh, cry, laugh again, make friends, all wrapped into one!
  • i think its both, well it is for me.
  • depends oh what YOU use it for
  • I dont get answers to my questions. I guess I ask the impossible.
  • In my experience, it's become mostly a place to socialize. Whenever I ask a social or conversational question, I usually get answers. However, when I ask a serious question that I really need to have answers for, I usually don't get any...that's just my personal experience tho!
  • It's both, though for me, most of the time I answer away and only if someone stops in a thread to 'talk' do I socialize. Some days I spend most of my time there, other days, not at all. But overall I think it is still a place for questions and answers and learning, even if it's about people.
