Easy one to understand could be as simple as a pizza delivery, or any job in the car: Just imagine a graph of Time vs. Velocity. In which an acceleration in the positive direction, then release of the gas and coast to a stop, congratulations you just plotted a rudimentary parabola. Just this example is one in which you could perform several acts related to polynomials. Example: Drive in a full circle in a car, on a graph with distance (from the start, 0) vs time, as time progresses you get farther form zero, then closer, intersecting zero on the x (time) axis
