My kitten is super cuddly when we're alone, but as soon as my husband gets home from work, he acts completely different. Why does my cat act like this, and can I do anything about it?

probably not, cats will act the way they want to act, that is what is crazy about them. lol

Maybe, cats will not be forced to do anything, so you can only have your husband give him treats, and cuddle with the kitten. If not, don't worry "kitty" might change over time.

Here is what i have found out with my and others' close to me experiences. If they have a female cat, a lot of them like the adult males in the home better than the adult female. If the cat is male than it is reversed. I read something one time that the female cat liking the man of the house better is because he is the "alpha male" or the dominant of the household.

Cats often behave differently depending on who's around., and there could be any number of reasons why your kitten does this. Immature male cats often avoid older male cats as they can pose a threat. He may consider your husband to be an older male cat. (Don't laugh, it's possible!) It may be that he's recognized that you behave differently when your husband is around, and can't always stop to cuddle him while you're paying attention to the man of the house. If your husband isn't a "cat person" or doesn't care of the presence of the kitten, that could be it. Cats are very sensitive to those kinds of attitudes. If you carefully observe the kitten's behavior over a period of time you may start getting some insight into what the reason is. But whatever is causing this behavior, there's really not much you can do to change it. Just enjoy the cuddling you get when you get it.

I have a cat like that, she loves me, and hates women ,and when I bring a girlfriend by , she growls at them and go around them to rub up on me. I've tried alot of different things, but when her minds made up, That's it!

Every cat has a different personality. Some are very sociable, and will be friendly/cuddly with anyone who will show them some attention. Others will attach themself to just one person. I had a cat who was very affectionate with me, and was afraid of everyone else. she would growl and hiss and everyone thought she was mean when she was just scared. Some of our cats are more comfortable around women than men. There's really not much you can do to change a cat. Does your husband like the cat and try to play with him and show him attention? He may warm up to your husband a little eventually if he shows him a lot of attention.
