  • I have never had much luck with doctors. I surely have never felt better after going to one and every time I have gone the only thing that cured me was time. Most medications I have taken never helped so end up not taking them and just waiting for my body to heal itself. The heart pills I take well I can not say they work or not. I take them because they say if I don't I could die but I wonder.
  • It is a problem of science getting more precise all the time and different people making judgments on how large the normal ranges should be. That is why doctors read a lot of medical Journals and have medical education meetings all the time.
  • Do you feel that your Hypo or Hyper what are your symptoms.I have suffered both over the course of 33 years,if I can be of assisstance ,please ask.
  • Yes, I have. Some say my thyroid is normal and others don't! The doctor had a little indecision about putting me on meds for a sluggish thyroid and decided ultimately the benefit wouldn't be great enough; so no meds...yay.
  • That is the way with my blood sugar. My family doctor is very good at his job but he seems to think you can test after you eat and get an accurate reading (maybe you can and I am misinformed) so he kept testing me and saying "you are fine". Other doctors run the test and it's always too low or too high but I kept telling my MD something was wrong and he didn't believe me. He usually is great at his job though. So I understand. Some doctors think they know more about your health than you do and they may have the education but it is your body and you know your body. I wish you luck. Finding competant healthcare providers is VERY rare. They don't care
  • I do find it annoying when Doctors (and other professionals for that matter) don't keep up with new research findings. I have a condition that has changed its name to make it more meaningful medically and there are new medicines out there but my GP refuses to read up on my condition because he says it is my Consultants responsibility. However, everytime I go to my GP he doesn't treat me, just refers me to my consultant regardless of whether my symptomatic complaints are related to my condition or not. Very frustrating as my consultant is miles away and has a long waiting list for appointments. It is true that doctors hate it when you try to self diagnose and doubt their diagnosis but I understand that is acceptable to try a second opinion from a different doctor.
