  • Their motivation is irrelevant. That they had the courage to serve is far more important. I *ALWAYS* thank veterans for their service.

  • I do not think that many individuals in the military need to be thanked - they are doing a job that they chose to do. They chose to join up and do a job which requires courage, and strength and gives access to weapons. What jobs would these people be doing if they were in civilian life? And before you jump down my throat, my brother returned from Iraq on Wednesday, and heads out to Afghanistan in 3 months - he is doing a job which he has chosen to do. He understands the risks involved, and he loves his job. If it kills him, I will be very sad, but at least I know he was doing a job he wanted to do.
  • I personaly think it would get quite annoying being thanked by strangers all the time.
