No way. Marlon Brando was 27 when he broke out. Dustin Hoffman was 30, Daniel Day-Lewis was 28 and Jack Nicholson was 32. Your the perfect age.

I would say that if you're 30 and you've never done any acting and you're looking to make it into a career, you would do better to look elsewhere. Those actors who became famous in their thirties had resumes a mile long before they got there. Nearly all of them have been actors since childhood and have been in the business full time for many years before they got their break. Those people who start late and succeed are insanely talented people who can write, direct, act in and produce their own films successfully. If you can do that, then you have a reasonable shot. If all you can do is act, you have less of a shot. If you have not been doing some sort of acting all your life, then your chances are very very slim. To give you an idea on how challenging this really is, I advertised for actors on Craigslist for a short film. The job was non paying, the chances of being seen were practically nil and I was FLOODED with applicants, many whom had been acting their whole lives and certainly deserved better than my crappy little production. That's the reality.

I'd rather see a handsome 30-something on the screen than a teen on the screen. Unless it's porn, then it's the other way around. Unless you're packing and not hairy, then it's a draw... But yeah, that's a good age to act at.
