Can someone explain the British money system and what all the terminology means in comparison to US monies? Are some of the terms slang?

ok you have pennies and pounds (sterling) pennies are like cents pounds are like dollars you get fivers tenners twenties fifties (all of these refer to the various notes which are multiples of "pounds" sterling) fifty pound notes are also known as "reddies" because of the red colouring on the note a score is 20 pounds and a monkey is 500 pounds any others you want to kmow?

we dont use shillings anymore in coins we get 1p 2p 5p 10p 20p 50p £1 £2 and there are a few £5 coins areound but mainly its coin collectors that have these! =0)
