  • I'm not a doctor, yet it seems doubtful to me that an infant would get an Apgar of 9 if there were reason to worry. My daughter also had her cord wrapped...twice! and she also got a high Apgar. She is in perfect health. Looking blue at birth does not necessarily signify oxygen deprivation.
  • Both me and my sister were born the same way. Im 31 and shes 26 with no healt complications or any other health concers. I wouldn't worry about it.
  • My son had the same thing but received an Apger score of 7 when delivered. He was totally gray and was not breathing. When he went home two days later they raised the score to a 9. The only difference we have seen between him and my two older sons is that his speech was delayed and he is dyslexic. Other than that he is just fine - age 19 and in his second year of college.
