  • For pulling Germany out of an economic slump yes, to unite the German people under one cause, yes. to the rest of the world. no.
  • Was it necessary how? Germany, Japan, and Italy were the main attackers in this war. It was inevitable. Even if they hadn't attacked, some action would have needed to be taken to stop the atrocities that were being done to the Jews, Catholics, handicapped, and others in Germany.
  • From whose point of view? I'm sure the British, French, and Polish people would say yes. They would be very grateful that US got involved.

  • Yes and no. If the Allies had not been so vindictive in their Versailles requirements, Germany would not have gone into the economic collapse that allowed Hitler and his cronies to attain power. As to Japan, they had a militaristic tradition and a desire to colonize, so they were probably destined to fight. Not sure why Italy jumped in, without Germany, they might not have.
