That's ridiculous. Who better to donate money to breast cancer, than those who use breasts to make their money!
-
I understand that the business may be distasteful, but it's still a donation and their intentions are good. I don't think the person receiving cancer treatment cares that the treatment was discovered with 0.0001% of the funds coming from a strip joint.
-
Why should they care where the money comes from? Strippers have breasts and get breast cancer.
-
I'd say it depends on the controversial source, if it was earned from working at their profession I do not agree, it's honest money it should be accepted. If it came from a bank robbery then they probably ought to turn it down.
-
i think thats the most stupid thing ive heard. for gods sake money is money and it doesnt matter where it comes from if its going to a good cause.
-
It sounds like a dumb decision but it's theirs to make. They're free to not take money from whomever they like.
-
That is so wrong. They have as much right to donate money to charirties as we do. Regardless of how they make money. Their intention is to help the needed just like other people who are donating.
-
Here's an interesting way to think about it: if you think about it, the women who are opposing the donation are most likely older women, quite possibly cancer survivors themselves, who might have seen their husbands spend both time and money on strippers, maybe to help them cope with the possible loss of loved ones, maybe because they were horny pigs. But either way, some of that money being donated was already theirs, before the husbands admiringly donated their lifesavings to 20 yr old cheerleaders named Bambi. They have to take it. It kinda like when you have your bicycle stolen, and the thief sells it to an unsuspecting buyer. Days later, the buyer, being a good Samaritan, returns it to you upon realizing the bicycle was yours.

Unreal, especially since lately the BCSC has been gobbling up quite a bit of press as well as snagging donations usually going to Toronto's Sick Kids Hospital. They'll get hosed in the papers tomorrow over it. Tax time is among us so I'm doing my last minute charities. I guess the BCSC doesn't need my money either. Neat, the OSPCA and Sick Kids will be happy with the extra little bit I can give them now.
-
They should have been happy to get the money. No, I do not agree.
-
I think its foolish. They are women who can get breast cancer just like other women. They also probably had good intentions, so what does it matter if they are strippers they work for their money too. I completely disagree.
-
no. every woman or man should be able to donate money to a cause regardless of the way it was earned. strippers are people to.
-
No. I get tired of people turning down good money for good causes because of their sexual hang-ups, taboos, and desire to force their morality on everyone.
-
I don't see any reason to turn down the money. This isn't NAMBLA
-
Have you seen where they put those dollar bills? If I had breast cancer I would say "no thank you keep your STD" Still clean money if the customers are giving it away though.
-
No I don't agree. There's a difference between controversial and illegal. If the money is coming from a legitimate source, then I would support the move and the groups intentions.
-
No that is just silly
-
I think this is sending the wrong message... Sounds to me like they don't really care about the people who suffer from breast cancer...
-
No I don't agree - Not defending anyone that strips or dissing them but I personally think about it like this - The gas company couldn't care less where they get some of their money from - drug deals, prostitution and who knows where else so why in the world should any one else care where they are getting money from? It over looks the REAL issue at hand - BREAST CANCER. If I had breast cancer I wouldn't give a flat rats ass where the money came from.

One of my favorite sayings is beggars can't be chosers! LOL
