Not shocked but surprised - as I assume that people who might see me wearing glasses might seem as I always wear contacts. A friend of mine has got her first glasses and when I see her I'll make sure I compliment her as I think it's important to make people feel their glasses look good.

No, not shocked at all. My daughter recently got glasses that she has to wear full time, and she looks great with them!
