Clean off the area where it goes into the slave cylinder with brakleen or something similar, you will see a white sleeve made out of plastic, you need to push it in towards the slave cyl, there is a tool but you can use a medium size flat screwdriver, work your way around the white sleeve and it will slide in, when it goes in all the way, you should be able to pull the line out. Good luck.
if its the style i am thinking of it requires a special tool that should be available at your local part store. they should be able to help you find it and explain how to use the tool

You're reading How do I take off the slave line from the trans of a 1987 ford ranger. It has a hard plastic line that goes to an internal slave cylinder.
