You can buy your coffee in coarse grind instead of fine grind if thats what you mean.

Why would you want to do that? The paper filter makes it pure coffee nectar, mmmm.

I have the same Coffee Maker and had the same problem, I even used two paper filters per time, but I read your answers and the right thing to do is buy coarse grind. You asked a question and solved my problem.

Usually, the finer the grind, the stronger the brew. I have a mesh filter, but also use paper. I do a Turkish grind (Aris likes high octane) then pack it down. I take the scoop and press it in, until it is as close to a solid chunk as I can get. Then there are no grounds in the pot. Otherwise, it flows over the top of the filter into the pot.

I have the same...a Braun with a fine mesh wire basket...and found the same problem and did the added paper filter "solution". Just a heads-up on that. I turned the pot on, left it to brew while I took care of other wake-up things and I guess it couldn't handle the two filters...cause the filtering system backed up coffee all over the place. Big mess...'n I'm definitely NOT a morning person, if ya know what I mean! Grrrrrrr! :-) Actually, I've come to tolerate whatever setiment gets through. It usually goes to the bottom of the pot, anyway. I'm a major coffee lover! +5 to the question

I use natural linen bags for tea. I'll bet you could use the same for your coffee maker. Just put the coffee into the linen bag, draw it closed with the drawstring and insert into the wire basket. Here's where I order mine. I'd suggest the large cotton muslin for a coffee pot. http://www.mountainroseherbs.com/tea_tool/bags.html#muslin It would sure make the cleanup easier too.
