they are ok, but now that I saw Ailsa's response, crispy may be the way to go. They have always been soggy when I've had them.

I prefer not having dough in my stews.I like potatoes and the usual vegetables in my stews.

Dumplins taste great with stew and also spicy green peppers.

I most certainly do..however mine have to be gluten free so I'm not allowed to have proper suet ones..they are the best....what I do do is to freeze a pack of Lard and using a lemon zester make suet like shreds used with Gram and Rice flour ,its not bad.

I do, but I can't make them so I buy frozen dumplins.
