I want to change the color of the text and background. I understand most of it but do not know what they are using for colors. Here is a sample of the code: <param value="high" name="quality"/><param value="transparent" name="wmode"/><param value="0x000000" name="bgColor"/></object><div style="font-family: arial; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; font-size: 11px; line-height: 12px; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; width: 250px;"><a href="http://www.springwidgets.com/widgets/view/23/?param_param=http://feeds.feedburner.com/romarights¶m_style_borderColor=0x000000¶m_style_brandUrl=¶m_compactView=true¶m_blurbLength=512&width=250&height=351" target="_blank" title="Get this widget!"> Here is where the widget is: http://proudromani.blogspot.com/ The widget is "Roma Rights Network." I can change the color for a minute but then it goes back to the default black by the time it loads. Also managed to change the color on the "get this widget" bit at the bottom.

It would appear that it has a transparent background and the color of the text would be black by the 0x000000. This site might help you crack the code to make the changes you want. http://www.quackit.com/html/

This is over my head, but here's the low-down on param: http://htmlhelp.com/reference/html40/special/param.html Have you tried putting it in the style tag? color:red is for red text or color:#ffffff would be hex for white, background-color:red or background-color:#ffffff for the background color.

There is something wrong with that html code, it says "transparent" and there is no color code. Why not look for "blog html background color codes" or once again abuse BigDaddyBS for the correct info. Sorry but I know so little about html, that I hang my head in shame.

It's running from the www.springwidgets.com server. To make lasting changes to it, you would need to download all the code from there, modify it, and host it on a server of your own.

Looks like normal code to me but I do know Blogger won't allow some code to be written to the blog itself. That would explain why it "changes back". You have some great answers here so I'm guessing there must be a "work around". Good luck.

You are loading a flash object from an external source. You are changing the background of the HTML object itself, but when the flash object loads, it overlaps the background in the object. This would explain the immediate changing back of the background color. There is no way to fix this but to change the flash widget itself, and that can get complicated. You would have to decompile the flash object and change the background yourself, then host it on your own server. Good luck!
