If I ask the question, I feel obligated to read the entire response. If I answer a question and I read other answers, if they are long I skim them.

Yes I read the answer. If a person has gone to a lot of trouble to reply I feel the least I can do is read it , unless of course it is too odd or technical that i do not understand.

If I ask a question, I'm interested in answers no matter how long they are. If I answer a question, I try to read all of the answers because I don't want to repeat. But to be honest sometimes I skip too long answers. I am only a human..

I read the whole thing. I asked the question for a reason and the fact that you would take time out of your day to answer it in such detail is a great thing to me. As far as ratings go, I hope the thesis was worth my time, because if not, you've wasted your's.
