  • Things to check in order of increasing cost: 1) Do you have gas in the tank? 2) Is the fuel filter plugged? 3) Check the fuel pump. Good luck.
  • Did you try to prime the carb? pour a little gas in the carb and let it sit, then try to start it. Then move the accellorator arm to see if gas is shooting into the carb. Pull out your dipstick and smell the oil. If you smell gas, it's an idication that your fuel pump is bad. (if so, you'll also have to change the oil and oil filter).
  • I had the same problem before but with a 89 VW I suggest trying the fuel filter first and hoping that it's that because a fuel pump is expensive and you don't wanna buy a fuel pump then find out it is the filter.
