  • He wanted His chosen people to make the world a better place, not have success handed to them on a platter. The Promised Land represents the ethos of the religion He wanted His people to follow- which is all about taking raw materials or an imperfect world and making a meaningful difference.
  • The land is not barren, anything can grow there. They have always disobeyed God,look in the wilderness, they had to stay for 40 years, because of their continuous rebellion against God.Non of the original Jews got to the promise land only their children. They reject Jesus so they are under judgement. The bible says they will never have peace outside of Jesus.
  • It was all in HIS PLAN..for the necessity of a chosen peoples to Keep HIS NAME "holy" and "remembered" till HE could fullfill HIS Promise and Propecy of the Messiah (womans seed?offspring) in Genesis 3.... the Promised Land was a land of milk and honey...Israel=Jacob +Jacob's descendants...Judah ,which was the Christ lineage... the POINT is, GOD took care of wherever they were(wandering for 40 yrs),against all enemies,starvation,etc... the second point is: all the Israelites BONDAGES and hardships they ALWAYS brought on themselves and were punished..BECAUSE they DID NOT OBEY...which HE demands OBEDIANCE above all else of HIS..even today... God did not abandon the Israelites without due warnings and pleadings and prophecies ...but they still turned their backs on HIM by idol worship and obeying their own laws and ways instead of HIS... with Jesus to open to all all men..accomplish the promise and prophecy of Genesis...the TRIBE of Judah(last anyway) was no longer needed. God blessed them in many WONDERFUL WAYS, including their own land,Israel, but alas ,they chose to FORFEIT it all...read what the spys came back and said of the land before they CROSSED into the Promised Land!!!and how GOD helped them to CONQUER all the hostile tribes around them...happy reasoning:)justme
  • Moses stuttered.... he wanted to say Canada but instead said Caanan. Real answer is that the land has undergone many changes over the years. It does have many blessings, including the fact that in the winter you can drive a few hours and go from skiing to waterskiing.
  • Excellent question ... I like it. Makes you think if God has thought it carefully doesn't it??
  • The land wasn't barren when given to them. It's barren today because they weren't living there for a long time. The planting of trees was helping and of course missiles don't help to rebuild.
