the Koran the holy book of Islam. its words are the words of the prophet muhammad, although not written by him. i also know that like any holy book, its seen as a book of guidance, how to live your life. and i think they try to learn the whole thing of by heart. emm thats about it
It's the Holy Book of Islam revealed to Muhammad (PBUH) 1400 years in a period of 20 years. His messenger was Archangel Gabriel (Jibriel in Arabic) who was his guide and helped him spread his teaching. Muslims believe that the Bible has only partial revelation while the Koran has the correct revelation. However, anything that the Bible has and is in the Koran, is correct. Other wise, it's wrong (according to Islamic belief). Muslims and Christians both believe in the same prophets. Muslims don't believe in the Trinity. It's also one of the most misunderstood faiths in mankind. The Koran is in its pure form, 500 pages of poetic language.

I just want to correct you. The Quran is the exact words of Allah (God) revealed to prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). It was NOT written by prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
"Do they not then consider the Quran carefully? Had it been from other than Allah (God), they would surely have found therein many a contradiction." [The Noble Quran 4:82]

Well, I am sorry but your sentence starts by saying "its words are the words of the prophet muhammad,.." which is not correct. The correct sentence must be 'it is the exact words of Allah (God)'. Peace.
