I have found that Police dogs are some of the best trained dogs I have ever seen, they need to appear agressive because they are used to catch criminals and so they do need a level of aggression. They are very obediant and only ever follow the commands of the police officer who is handling them.

No. The dogs that make the best protection and police working dogs are dogs that have stable temperaments. These dogs are well socialized to various situations. They undergo many mental and physical test before going into and completing their police training. The dogs are taught to bark aggressively on command. It's part of "agitation" training. Given the command to "out", the same dog will greet the "agitator" like a long lost relative. It's all in the training.
