  • Why not adopt a child in need in your own country. Charity starts a home.
  • my folks had a young black foster daughter once and the best info they got was on hair care. caring for black hair is different than for whites. the only other thing i'd add would be to teach them as much as you can about where he/she came from so they can be proud of their heritage.
  • Patience. Especially if they're already older. They're gonna feel very displaced, and anxious.
  • Love the child with all your hearts.
  • Alabama
  • treat him like your own blood
  • Give him/her a lot of love, attention and have a lot of patience. I am saying from the heart - our adopted daughter is an angel now, 5 years later. But it took a lot work, love and patience.
  • the skin is just what it is just love the child, and dont rspond to negative remarks.... i think you are wonderful.... i love you...help the child, you will be blessed... did i mention you are wonderful....smile
  • Remember that you are helping a child, regardless of where the child is from. Always keep a positive attitude, because there will be those people out there that will try and bring you down with their ignorance. Rear this child with love and teach this child how important he/she is:)
