I like it okay, but its kinda generic. There are so many people with Clark as last names. Samsonite would be fun to have as a last name
-
my last name is annoying. people always spell it wrong and i dont think its hard to spell. its irish so i must have family from ireland somewhere along the line lol
-
I don't mind it (it's Scottish) but I'm not rapturously in love with it either. People keep putting an S on the end as well, which annoys the hell out of me.
-
Not really. It connects me to my dad, it's dull AND it means manly
-
I like my last name, but no one can pronounce it when reading it. It's really simple, and is pronounced exactly as it is spelled but it is very mis-pronounced. Its Girten. I get called Griffen, and Griten and Girton very often.
-
I like my married last name, but I hated my maiden last name because it belongs to an ass. :-x
-
I dont like mine. too average.
-
I have two to choose from, and I hate them both. There's my mum's maiden name, McGinnis, which is so distinctive that whenever I use it, I end up with everyone completely forgetting my first name, and yelling "Hey McGinnis!" at me when I walk by. On the other hand, the other one is distinctly ugly and German sounding, and sounds unsettlingly like "Weasle". So I geuss McGinnis is the lesser of two evils.
-
yea my name is ok- it looks like it's spelled. plus my name is well known by tea drinkers!
-
I don't mind it. I always have to spell it out on the phone though, which does my head in a bit.
-
I love my last name. That's one of the reasons why I've always kept it.
-
It is ok a little difficult to pronounce but it certainly is easier than my maiden name so that is better
-
I like mine its easy to spell not complicated at all but still some how telemarketers manage to mess it up
-
No. Having Harry as a last name is just another reason to be pelted with balls in gym class, that and the pasty white skin.
-
Not really...too many of my in-laws are actually "outlaws".
-
I don't mind having my last name. It's ok, although for a girl it sounds odd - Block.
-
Yes, I as it's like a signpost for questions and people asking me is that Irish. How do you spell it, they ask. Doolin.
-
My last name has 11 letters in it. Only a few people can spell it as well but i like being different. I couldnt stop laughing when i was about 1 week into my first spanish classes and i had to write down a fruit for each letter in our last names! We learned only about 5!
-
My last name now is my husband's...it has a silent letter in it. This means that those who pronounce it correctly misspell it and those who spell it correctly mispronounce it. I like well enough, though.
-
Mine usually gets mispronounced, too, at least in America. It's fairly common in Russia -- Volkova -- but I like it because it means, "of wolves".
-
I like my last name and no one can seem to pronounce it well maybe pronouncing it is easy but people can never seem to read it right.
-
Mine is Dean I'm happy with it ...
-
Well... my last name now is Counts. Pronounced exactly like it is spelled. Spelled exactly like it is pronounced. That doesn't stop telemarketers, or police officers from calling me "Ms. Coots" or "Ms. Counch" OR "Ms. Couch". Couch. Yes. My last name obviously is Couch. Anyway. I like my last name just fine, mostly because I am a complete sentence. Rachel Counts. Yes, I count very well, thank you. Soon that will change because I'm getting married in a few months, and will be taking on the name Weingartner. And I thought Counts was bad...
-
my last name is boring, and takes away from the rest of my name. In my oppinion it just doesn't go with my first and middle. They sounds so statley stuck-up rich woman in the 1500's, and my last name just kills it. That and no one can proncouce it either. Its not that hard. If it was meant to be pronounced Easle it would be spelled "Easle", not the way it is.
-
I like it because over here, it's unique. But no-one can pronounce mine right either. It's Vermes, Hungarian not French, so the s makes a sh sound. But it's fun yelling at people when they get it wrong.
-
o i hate mine tooo...its LOOOONG adn no1 can EVER pronounce it....even after i tell them HOW to say it....its sooo irritating!but i feel sorry for the person taht has to say it!lol
-
Mine is McKelvie... I like it. Origin-wise it's quite odd - two different names, one Scots Gaelic name and the other Irish Gaelic, came to be written the same way. The Scots one was "son of Sealbhaich" and the Irish was "son of the yellow haired boy". The oddest part is I don't know which side I'm from as my ancestors popped backwards and forwards between Ireland and Scotland. So I don't know which I am. And because of that - I like it. :)
-
Nothing wrong with my last name, i am happy with it and wouldn't change it.
-
I dont even try to have someone spell it right I just spell it for them..
-
NO! my last name needs to die its stupid
-
NO! my last name needs to die its stupid
-
No. I don't like my last name, sounds funky (weird).
-
hell no i hate it....its ramadan and im greek orthodox and i never celebrate it...and everyone always thinks im arabic
-
Goodness Gracious me too!!! :D
-
it's 4 letters long which is not long at all - that's nice. people pronounce mine wrong all the time as well but at least it's not as generic as Kim or any of those other korean names. you'd think we were all just one big family.
-
I like my name but people always spell it and say it wrong to.
-
I hate my last name, and everyone pronounces it wrong. My last name is Mayle. When you just read it, you thought it was pronounced Mail, right? Well, its pronounced may-lee, and everyone pronounces it everything other than that. May-le(as in the french "le", Mayl, or mayleeee. My friend who I've known for 3 years still thinks I'm chinese, because its pronounced may-lee. I'm not, I'm Italian, Irish, German and Native American(Cherockee). I'm a very diverse person...
-
No. I have never met anyone else with the same last name (spelled the same anyway), and most people do not pronounce it correctly even though it is not difficult at all.
-
I hated mine, hard to pronounce, and the few people who can pronounce it have to make a big deal about how smart they are. No question, when I got married I was happy to change it.
-
I like mine for the most part. Except when immature people find out it means Liar, and when people seem to forget I have a first name.
-
Mine is Zwicker and I like it cause its unique
-
I have the same problem with mine,...no one can ever pronounce it,...but its unique, so I still like it.
-
30 is not so hard to say. Mine is fine.
-
I hate it. No one can pronounce it or spell it and without revealing what it is I can tell you that it has 11 letters and 5 of them are A's! When put with my first name it creates a string of nanana. trust me, it is ugly. But I love my husband anyway even though I had a nice easy name before I got married! lol
-
My last name is extremely Dutch. It is Van Dompseler Buitenhuis (bite-en-heiss). Eat that, lol. I guess I like it...it's unique, for one thing. What is your last name, Fuzzy_Rabbit? If you don't wanna say, that's cool.
-
I got married a year again and i'm just getting used to my new surname now.. I like it.. but I love my old one too.. i would double-barrel but the words would sound so stupid hehe
-
I like it.. especially when telemarketers call, they can't pronounce it correctly, lets me know they are "junk calls" so I hang up.
-
i don't like mine much, hated it during primary school because it rhymes with a word that means fart... and my first name rhymes with messy.
-
I don't hate my last name, but I look forward to changing it when I get married. <3
-
well considering i have my fathers last name and i didnt like him much then no but my kids have my last name so i will ask them
-
I dont like my last name because its dawe and it sounds like door and i get teased bout it i get called front door, back door etc but in a way its funny
-
No, I hate mine. I would rather have an unpronoubable long name like Kaliughyidndjsnmski or something. My surname is Miller. Its so plain, boring, and common. It doesn't even have a meaning. I'm of Italian descent, and don't know where Miller came from. Nobody can ever find me on the internet because my last name is so common! Its like John Smith! Oh, what I would give for an uncommon unique last name that identifies who I really am.
-
no one cn pronounce mine but mine sounds like make outs so i like it!
-
i love my last name. we are proud of it. It's GRIFFIN it's the name of all our companies, kinda like how Trump puts his name on things, we do that too. My sister kept her last name when she got married for business reasons
-
I like my last name, because it's German and that means it's awesome. However, people have trouble pronouncing it, and that's annoying. What makes it even more annoying is that it's actually very easy to pronounce: Olischar. OH-lish-ar. That's not so hard. Oh, and I don't like being asked to spell it for people all the time, either.
-
I love mine Bartram- means Bright Raven
-
I hate mine. It is far too common.
-
Eh. *shrug* I went from a four letter impossible to pronounce name, to a 12 letter easy to pronounce name with a hyphen. My husband joked that I should add my maiden name to the front of it with another hyphen. Heck NO!
-
I neither like or dislike my last name. It is what it is and I don't think about it that much. I do dislike that it is very close to a very common last name with a "ph" in the middle of it. My name is spelled with just the "p" in the middle. I've thought of changing my middle name to "No-Aych" to remind people of the correct spelling...;-D...
-
Actually I Used To Not Like Mine Cuz No One Can/Could Pronounce Or Spell It, But Now I Just Find It Funny And Like To See How Many Different Ways You Can Say And Spell It. I'm Really Proud Of My Last Name Now.
-
I hate my last name!!!! I've always thought it was ugly.
-
I don't mind it. It's a simple German name, really. It's kind of plain though. I guess I'm neutral about it. But I don't care because eventually I'm going to have my fiance's last name -- Slubowski!
-
I hate mine. Just because I hate it. But it's easy to pronounce, thank god. Because if it wasn't, people wouldn't be able to say any part of my name. And that just wouldn't be fun.
-
I love my last name....It made me famous (lol)
-
I' m ok with mine
-
I like my last name, for the #1 reason that I am proud of my family, and happy to be associated with the same last name as Teachers, Doctors, a CFL football player, and just some real awesome people around the world.
-
I like mine. Of course, it's one of the most common in the English-speaking world...
-
Yeah, I like my last name. I am the resident grammar nazi, and my german heritage is quite helpful in that regard. Also, women can afford to not like their last names, especially if it is their maiden names. Men should like their last names, especially if they ever hope to attract a mrs. LOL.
-
Mine is fine. It's not a super-common name but it's familiar enough so that most people can pronounce and spell it. However, some people used to think that it was Murray if I lazed out on the pronunciation.
-
I love my last name; my maiden name is among the most common in the country and long-ish. My first married name shared the first four letters with my maiden name, and was slightly shorter; that was something of a bonus, in that when I was transitioning names, I'd get four letters into it before I realized I was about to write the wrong name. My current married name is four letters, easily spelled, easily pronounced, and not too terribly common. I've been told it makes me sound like a soap opera star, but I'm not sure if that's a bonus or not.
-
I agree... ours seems so simple yet no one can say it correctly or can sometimes say it at all.... I am serious! It is Setser (sounds like Sets-Sir) Not difficult to me, yet no one says it right and I have to repeat it so many times... UGGGHH
-
My maiden name was very difficult, if not impossible for people to get from it's spelling and hard to pronounce. And then I married a man that has one of the 6-8 most common names!!!!
-
Yes I do
-
I don't dislike it... :)
-
Yes, I'm very fond of it. :)
-
yes!!!!!
-
Its simple, and easy to read and spell. Its 4 letter long, AND EVERYONE SCREWS IT UP!!!!!
-
nope-had to spell it at least 3x every time i give it to someone
-
I love it! Even though people sometimes think it is my first name.
-
Yes I've grown attached over the years and I'm not to fond of the idea of it changing!!
-
I do now, but I hated my maiden name and my married name. When I got divorced I took my Mum's maiden name, and I love it
-
no
-
... yes ... .
-
No!
-
No.
-
My last name is very easy to make fun of, which was a royal pain in the ass growing up (and still it to tell the truth) But I don't hate it...I think it gives me character:)
-
I hate my last name! its long, hard to spell and noone can pronounce it coz its got silent letters in it!! and to top it off its from my dickhead of a father.. so i spell it the way you pronounce it in english.
