I once worked as a Wedding Photographer. It was my practice to call the bride a few days before the ceremony to get a take on what she expected. On one occasion, I heard her laugh when I introduced myself. She had broken up with her fiance about an hour before! It was some "little" argument thing that she thought would become a Power Struggle later. She was out the deposits, but the 200 chicken dinners and wedding cake weren't made, so she didn't have to pay for them. --and even if she did, she was saved $$$ worth of misery!

Yes, she called it off quite late in the day. He was a cop and she went to a disciplinary hearing of his for an incident that had occured while they were together. It wasn't until after she was there that she found out he was accused of asking a 15 year old girl for sex. Rather lucky escape methinks.
