I would like to take up a new musical instrument. I have played (or attempted to play) guitar and keyboard, but am looking for something different. I like most types of music, except for bluegrass and newer country. Any suggestions?

Have you ever checked out Blue Man Group? They use some interesting objects to create new instruments, and they use existing instruments in new, innovative ways. A grand piano on it's side and played with a sledge hammer - plumbing PVC tubing to make percussion and wind instruments.... Hmmm. I thought to post a video here, but BMG seems to have gathered them all into places that are difficult to figure out how to embed. I can't imagine that a musician would not have heard of them, but if you want to see some of their work, just google them - you'll get thousands of links.
