While gay marriage is fine, does anyone have a problem with a 3-way marriage. Why should we allow the government or the church to say how many people we choose to include in our marriage?

'Polygamy is illegal' - i think his question was WHY is it illegal. and who says gay marriage is fine.. alot of people disagree infact. gay marriage is TOLERATED, doesnt mean you like it. but i dont see why if something as disguesting and unnatural as gay marriage is allowed then polygamy definately should be too! in my opinion

That's it, if we open the door for gay marriage, then we must open the door for all types of non-traditional marriages, gay marriage, brother sister marriage, cousin marriage, polygamy, etc. Personally, I don’t care who gets married to what, as long as it doesn’t affect me, but we can't just allow gay marriage and then stop there, consistency is key...

ive been saying this all along!>........ i wanna marry my toaster, and my goat, and i want everything left to then when i die and i want them to visit me in the hospital, and adopt a child and raise them gay. o yea and i also want to be able have sex in the middle of the street. i dotn get it. once you let americas moral fiber go why stop at anything. there is a line. and gay marriage is it. its a morality issue. if you allow that then you might as well let everything go. let the state decide. the majority. because it really is going to effect out young people.

IMO, two is fine, three is a threesome. If there was a poll, I will choose to reject the idea because the idea of marriage, strongly debated by many people for its purpose, is to legally bond two people for the rest of their lives (or till divorce). I mean yes, the idea can be brought in to three people, but really. It defeats the purpose of a intimate relationship be it B-G, or B-B or G-G. Having a third person only brings in more problems.

Gay marriage is a good deal easier to institute, for one. We already have a working legal framework for how two people enter into a contractual union, what their rights and responsibilities are, and how the union can be dissolved. The inclusion of gay marriages into the legal definition would only change the pronouns involved. Coming up with a comprehensive system for a union of 3-(infinity) would be a lot more problematic. An odd example of how this might be problematic: a company could marry all of its employees together to get all the legal benefits of marriage (mutual taxing, exemption for testifying in court against each other).

Rebelheart, I have seen some of your comments, and would like to say. Gay marriage is not legal, not in my state, and not in many. I don't get why you think its all the rage. If it was all the rage, I'm pretty sure that gay marriage would be legal...

well its serves no purpose in procreating children. so maybe it could be a retardation. there are different degrees of it you know. huh. dont have much to say now. my point is you can make an argument for anything and there is no proof of anything.

Your opinion, which I respect, but my opinion is that a marriage is between a man and a woman and that is the only marriages that are proper with the Lord and the only marriages I will recongnize or accept as marriage.

I think people who say gay marriage is against the bible would have less ground to stand on with this one. http://www.iowastatedaily.com/articles/2006/05/16/opinion/20060516-archive2.txt ^ is about two years old, but it makes some points.

First, its a law violation to be married to more than one person at a time. Its called Bigamy. Been on the law books forever and most likely will never change. Domestic violence is bad enough between two people, much less three!
