Help answer this question below.
First of all, it's a Ford, which means it's probably an electrical problem. You would have to check all of the wires to see if/where a draw is coming from. With the ignition off, you should check to see if there is a draw on the battery. If there is, you could start by pulling each fuse 1x1 to see if any of them are causing the problem. Once it's narrowed down, check that entire circuit for proper current.
If that's not the problem, then it could be a ground somewhere. Good luck.

my 98 f150 wont start. new battery and jumping doesnt work. battery appears to be charged and amps dont pull down while trying to start.

You're reading My son's 1997 Ford F150 keeps blowing the altenator (sp?). Bought a new altenator and battery and the truck ran for the day, but drained the battery completely, so wouldn't start next day. Any ideas?
