Yes. Try a vice too.
-
No, simply no.
-
WTF! you trying to discipline them...or break their bones?! wow....NO....definitely NOT acceptable. no child did anything bad enough to deserve to be hit with a wrench! :/
-
Nope!
-
Unless you fathered/mothered a nail or nut then probably not, no.
-
Not unless they expect the child to fix something.
-
That child only threw a monkey wrench in your plans because you were undisciplined and got hammered and nailed his/her mother without being prepared to accept the consequences. I guess that makes you the tool.
-
I know this isn't a serious question, but I still have to answer it! Hell no!
-
Presuming this isn't a total farce........any parent using such discipline should be locked up!!!!!!! Even having such a thought is SICK........
-
you my dear are an azzzzzzzzz!!!! and that is the most christian way I can describe you
-
If you mean to hit the child with, the answer is a great big NO. If you mean to teach the child how to use tools (discipline = teach) then I would go with the child's version first.
-
Hell no!!!If you have to spank use your open hand!
-
There is no way that this "question" is asked for any reason other than to stir a ruckus on the site. Sorry, not buying. The only way tools are appropriate as punishment is as my father did a few times when he told me to go out and change the oil in the car.
-
No.
-
Hell no!!!!!!!!!!!!! What kind of question is that?
-
I was called once to a school where they thought a child (the school authorities) felt was possible a vic of abuse.........I called protective services. Now in doing a follow-up a few hours later I learned the parent of the child actually thought that the only way the child would learn a lesson (not to touch something hot)was to burn the child on the swell of the back with an iron!!!! I am not proud to say, it was the first time in my life I permitted anger to rule my emotions. I slammed the person up against a wall and it was only by the sound of my partner calling for me at the time, I did not whip a new hole in the person! My point being: It does not surprise me anymore, a parent or an adult out in the real world that thinks using a hammer or monkey wrench was acceptable form of discipline (especially towards a person much smaller and weaker). For it is this very same person who beats a child would not have the balls to raise their voice yet alone a hammer or monkey wrench to another adult!
-
NO! How is this not immediately considered abuse? The only acceptable form of physical discipline in my mind involves a hand and a bottom.
-
wtf? of course it is not acceptable to discipline your children with tools! geez.
-
Absolutely not.
-
They have a word for that... Child abuse Im guessing?
-
Unacceptable and inhumane.
-
do you know someone who does this? Because even to threaten with these things is considered abuse.
-
Only if by discipline you mean you're making them build/repair things as punishment.
-
Only if they are going to discipline the kid by making him do plumbing repairs.
-
That is an horrendous question, give the child the same tools in defence.
-
If this was a question asking if it is okay to use the same tool/s on an adult it would be called attempted murder or grievous bodily harm, or serious assault etc. For a child who is smaller and considerable weaker it would in my opinion be far worse. It would be poetic justice though for the child to get a hold of the tool themselves and knock some sense into a useless excuse of a parent.
-
Heck no that is abouse.
-
Its not acceptable, just retarded.
-
What??!! If this is a serious question than I am worried for some child's safety!
-
You should never even think about using any physical object to discipline a child, full F******* stop
-
NO WAY! I've been hit with hangers, rulers, wooden spoons, shoes and hands many times almost a belt. BUT TOOLS? That has to be a joke! I'd be making a call to child services if I ever heard someone was using tools! In my opinion a hand is good enough if you need to spank a child!
-
Wellll, to discipline means to teach, so if the parent is teaching the child carpentry or plumbing, then sure. But I suspect you mean a parent may be hitting their child with these tools. That is not at all acceptable. It is dangerous, violent, and harmful. There are other ways to teach a child right from wrong. They may take more effort, but the results are worth it.
-
Of course not.
