  • Most all auto alarm activation use RF (Radio frequency). These arming frequencies are provided by the FCC and manufactures comply with standards pertaining to transmission power, transmission frequency, and interference with other RF devices in the broadcasting range. It is difficult to say which frequency is being used by your particular transmitter, however if you know the brand name and model this should be easy to find out. Manufactures are also required by law to stamp or print or otherwise affix these frequencies to the RF device. Sampling the RF frequency (snooping)would be difficult to do without the proper equipment. Even if the transmitting frequency can be evaluated there is also a digital code which is being carried by the transmitter emission. This code is said to be unique to the device, and thus is the determining factor of giving your transmitter, and its matching reciever it's security feature. Once again said frequency should be printed on the device.
