Do you wish you were dead or alive?

I am glad I am alive but I do have moments when I wish I were dead. I then think of my son and about some of the accomplishments I have made in my life and some of the struggles I have overcome and I get over it.

I am happy to be alive, I have no idea what to make of this life, I just hope that one day I will see the Lord and I can lay my crown at his feet and he says "well done good and faithful servant." But there are still times I wish I was never born in the frist place lol.

If I was dead I wouldn't feel any of the pain I do now, but I also wouldn't be here to try to talk the girl I love out of drinking and getting high off sharpies. So, as much of a blessing death would be, it would be the wrong choice. I need to be here for her.

Depends on what day it is and what's going on for me on that day. I've had moments where I wished I wasn't alive but then I began my life with a birth mother who didn't want to be a parent, tried to organise for me to be taken by her many brothers and sisters (all of whom refused) and when I was 12 days old attempted to end my life in a brutal way - I still have scars that play up quite badly (like today, they're killing me). I did survive, she got caught by witneses who saw her tossing me in a sack, throwing bricks on me and tossing the sack in a river - ended up on attempted murder charges and well, fast forward to now, I was adopted, and now live in a different country and am married and getting on with life. I think we all go through times of darkness and those who say it's never happened either didn't have challenges to deal with or led deliberately shallow lives where they avoided conflict or challenge - passive souls I'd call them. I'm not criticising them for it, it's just not what I can do - so I rise to challenges, end up in crap sometimes over it but hey, least it's living right?

Most of the time I am ok with being alive. However every so often I have these moments when I go from loathing the skin I am in to the point where I can't stand being me anymore, and just want to make it all go away. Yet I'm still here, so surely I can't wish I was dead enough.

To many have died without choice to wish for death would be a waste where there is life there is hope I will always take the positive.

It depends: Dead- I don't want to work for money and have to go through things that I don't want to go through. Alive- Stay with my family, especially with my siblings ;) Read comics and watch movies/shows that I download. Eat good food like chocolate. :)

God wants me to be alive right now so thats where I want to be. But being dead would make things a hell of a lot more simple.

I enjoy being alive. Actually, I think I have just discovered the meaning of life! Be alive! When your alive, life has meaning, but you don't know what it is. When you die, there is no meaning. Are we seeing a pattern here?

I am alive, so therefore, no need to wish for it. If I were dead, I wouldn't be wishing for anything. Makes it kind of a moot point, huh?

If I honestly wished that I was dead, I would already be. And I'm already alive so I wouldn't waste my wishes whishing to be so.

Had I been a member of this site back in April of 05 the answer would have been dead. I had just barely buried the love and light of my life and my whole reason for living at the end of March and felt I had no reason to go on living anyore. Fast forward almost two and a half years later and I am just now realizing how wonderful being alive is. I have so many wonderful friends who have been there for me and made life worth living. I still miss my sweetheart horribly but I know now she is in a far better place and no matter what she will always be in my heart. I also know now she would not want me to mope around mourning her loss and continuing to shut out people who are just trying to help. I am happy to be alive and hope I have many more wonderful years left before I am called home by my Father in Heaven.

How can you wish you were alive? If you weren't alive, wouldn't you be dead? Everyone knows dead people don't wish!! shheessh! lol jk =)

I would like to be dead and alive....like a zombie but not like most zombies in movies that move really slow, more like the ones in 28 days later or I am legend that are fast .......

I don't know!! I guess alive. But dead at the same time. I could finish up my life long dreams while having the life in heaven. Do my life long dreams in heaven!! Oh man that would be cool!!!!!
