i do have to agree with the previous answer, i would say that WWII was the factor that stopped the great depression only because the great depression was an economic avalanche never before seen and needed something even more powerful to stop it. now to answer your question, i believe it was a great way to try to stop the great depression, and the economy did indeed start to turn around before 1941. the constitutionallity of the new deal can still be debated, i dont think that any of it was unconstitutional given the commerce clause, and the neccesary and proper clause, those i believe justify the new deal
