Full self determination is a nice concept but, in practicality, it is not going to work. We all have the right to try to steer our lives in ways that we choose to the best of our abilities. However, I do not think that we should be exempt from the rules of the societies in which we live. I do not think that we should be exempt from the laws of the society in which we live or it would be chaos. However, within the laws put on us by society there is a lot of leeway for self-determination. For example, if pure self determination was in practice someone who decided to go on a murder spree would be able to do it. That is an extreme example. A lesser example would be someone who decides to drive the wrong way on a three lane highway.
