  • They had children (at least one), right? If you clean it up when you can, they should be fine. If not, you will have to have your husband be a go-between, and tell them that you clean up when you can. Just try to keep the messes as small as possible, and toss out the dirty Pampers ASAP.
  • I would clean whenever I can,if they have that much problem why don’t they do it. You can try keeping more mess inside your room, and just keep sorting things as your child is done playing if it is in some central area.
  • oh stop.....they are your in laws..not gods..do your honest best..and if that isnt good enough too bad...what i dont understand is why you are with your in laws....tell your hubby to be a man and provide a place for his family..You are his wife and should be comfortable in your home..which you obviously are not now..
  • "Only being able to clean while the child sleeps" isn't cutting it. Once the child is finished playing with one thing put it back and let them play with what they have at the time. I don't recall my home ever being messy because of my one child. Maybe I am just a clean freak or something, I dunno. I was always up doing something when my daughter was awake and playing. My TV was on but only for the 'noise'. Diapers and wipes would ALWAYS go directly from the child's bottom to the trash. I have known people to fold them up, set them on dressers or the like for hours maybe even days until they "got around to it".I shook my head and thought - wow, do they do that with their used tampons and toilet paper that they wiped with? Having a child doesn't mean having a messy home. It only means that sitting down doesn't happen as often as if you had no child.
  • Obviously, I would get OUT of that house. If that is not an option, how interested in your in-laws about helping you? You could always say, can you watch the baby for 10 minutes while I pick up? It will show them that you are trying and give them a chance for some time with the kiddo?
  • Might I sugggest that you talk to THEM and tell THEM the same thing that you've ask us here .... COMMUNICATION is a wonderful thing when we learn to use it ...
