This could be real dangerous for the cat, make sure things like plastic bags arent left for him to get to. You could also rub lemon on things that he is chewing which will give him a nasty taste which would deter him from chewing

I had one like that too, and it was a real pain. Keep that stuff out of his reach or he'll kill himself with it. Plastic especially will wad up in his gut and cause a blockage, which leads to either really expensive surgery or death. Interestingly, my cat that did that died at 13 1/2 of intestinal cancer. It makes me wonder if his disease developed over a long time and spurred his strange tastes, or if the strange tastes caused the cancer.

i know a remedie but you have to buy it and it can be quite expensive , however you can use it more than once and most towns have a good store which will sell these , depending on where u live the cure may require a license etc . its integral you dont use it on yourself as this may result in death depending on the area you use it on , i find that the most efective place to use on my cat is its back legs . however this can be messy , oh yeah the remedie for your cat is infact a shotgun

You need to kitty proof your house like you would if you have toddlers. What you are describing can end up being fatal to your cat. As far as plastic bags are concerned if they injest the plastic it will either die or you are going to end up with a very expensive vet bill because the plastic is going to accumulate in the stomach and cause a blockage.
