I use Gimp and find it excellent. I haven't used Photoshop in a very long time and probably it has some advantages - at least I'd expect it to considering the price tag. Basically they do the same things, but they have different user interfaces and some different plugins etc.
I want more tools no matter what format
Is there software or some other way to make my desktop icons fade some or look transparent? Using vista.

My only concern is the fact that photo editing classes ask for photoshop instead of gimp.
