How much emphasis should employers put on school attendance and tardy records when making hiring decisions? Why?

I'm not sure that such information is available to employers, although it would be useful to them. Your school behavior might well predict how you would eventually perform in a work environment--especially if you don't love the job.

Actually, if we're talking about an employee's first job, quite a bit. If they won't show up for school, or show up on time, what makes you think they'll show up for work (or on time)?

I guess it depends on how old you are. If you are just outta school, then a lot. But if you are like 40 looking for a new job I think the attendence at your last job is more important than school records.
