Certainly you can be forgiven! There is absolutely nothing wrong with hating a holiday! A day in which Halmark has helped create to sell off sappy love cards! It's just another day for some of us

Oh please. You are letting the Hallmark corporation make you feel bad? Eff that. My man and I are deeply in love but we don't do holidays the corporations want us to do. We treat each other right every day of the year. We celebrate SATURDAY or the sacred day called PAYDAY with small somethings for each other. Chin up. You learn the trick of appreciating the special people in your life all year around you will make one heck of a catch to someone one day.

Forgive you? It's no sin to be unhappy or annoyed about this. Also, please keep in mind that for most people, the day is not the big deal that companies which sell roses, trinkets, and chocolates would like you to think. What you see in the commercials & window displays has only a remote relationship to reality for most couples and families.

Valentines Day is a way to celebrate love. But, originally, it was a blood bath. Scary what it really was back in the day. Hallmark made it a romantic holiday. You are not alone in hating the holiday. But, from what I know of you, I bet when you fnd that special person, you are going to rock their world with romantic gestures, valentines day or not.

What's to be forgiven? I agree with you that Valentine's Day is depressing. I would be fine with it if people in relationships could celebrate it without flaunting it in front of single people, but very few seem to be able to do so. It is just a stupid commercial holiday to benefit candy and greeting card companies.

I can forgive you for hating the holiday. I don't like it much myself. I'm not single so I dislike it for different reasons. It puts alot of unnecessary added stress on me. It's a day of high expectations....remembering the date, pretending to be nicer and sweeter than we both know I really am, not to mention finding the right card and gifts.

sure. it's what you feel.

Only if you will put your feelings into something positive, such as contributing food to your local food bank, instead.
