Why is jealousy a sin? I mean, it doesn't hurt anybody does it?

I think that jealousy is a sin because of what it does to the jealous person- it eats you up inside and makes you feel yucky.

Nah, it's an emotion, not a sin. Of course, if you are older than 17 and are jealous, you might try growing up a little.

Jealousy can very much hurt others. For example, cases of extreme jealousy end up in people being too possesive, restrictive and even abusive and causing harm to the person they supposedly love. Besides, being jealous also hurts the person feeling that way, let's leave aside the religious aspect, it is a destructive feeling or emotion if it happens frequently.

Jealousy causes a lot of problems that people are just better off without. And it destroys personal relationships. That's why it's viewed as a sin. It turns the jealous person into a nightmare. It makes the other person's life miserable. About whether it hurts anyone else or not, I guess that would depend on which person you are. The jealous one... or the person dealing with the jealous one...

it hurts you the most and it makes you crazy if something makes you jealous my advice is to get the f**k away from it,,,its a bad thing it can drive someone crazy.. and i say shame on anyone who tries to make someone purposely jealous... jealousy caused my mom to treat me like shit... and it hurts...and there is no point for it..

I don't believe in sin, but jealousy is still damaging because it's psychologically painful for the jealous person. Furthermore, someone with a jealous temperament may have a hard time making and keeping friends.

Depends on what kind of jealousy it is. Jealousy(unwarranted) over a loved one usually hurts you and the one you love. Jealousy over the 'things' someone else owns usually hurts you by making you unhappy with your lot in life. Jealousy over someone else's looks just makes you an unattractive person.
