The first time I REALLY experienced Eucharistic Adoration... which would have been my sophomore year of high school.

I was backpacking through the Smokey Mountains in Western North Carolina with my old dog, and camped on the top of a high promontory. That evening, the sunset was absolutely gorgeous, and then a million stars came out. I was completely overwhelmed and deeply touched, and felt a presence near me. That was when I realized that all humans are a part of nature, and that nature is a part of us, and our purpose here is to protect and nurture life wherever we find it.
