  • Some are about, but if you had spent a night stuffing yourself with food you would want to sleep it off. They are getting ready for the next meal, YOU and ME
  • G'day Luckymehr, Thank you for your question. This question was recently asked in the Sydney Morning Herald's Biq Questions section. There were a variety of questions. Among the most useful was this answer from Rosamund Turkington of Canberra: "Mostly they move to cool places, such as dark corners inside or the shade of garden plants. Hot dry air kills many types of mosquito so cutting back plants to let air circulate helps in control." Paul Roberts of Lake Cathie advised: "There are over 100 species in Australia. The common house mosquito breeds outside in any water receptacle. Inside, they lurk in dark corners until your bedtime. Other species rest in the shade of your garden. If you are in North Queensland, beware of the dengue mosquito, which likes to ambush ankles from beneath furniture during the day." • Mosquitos hide or rest in dark, damp, and under leaves and in heavy brush, tall grasses during the day. They cant tolerate direct sunlight for long periods of time.
