  • no he really did invent the internet right before he dicovered global warming.
  • GORE: Well, I will be offering -- I'll be offering my vision when my campaign begins. And it will be comprehensive and sweeping. And I hope that it will be compelling enough to draw people toward it. I feel that it will be. But it will emerge from my dialogue with the American people. I've traveled to every part of this country during the last six years. During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet. I took the initiative in moving forward a whole range of initiatives that have proven to be important to our country's economic growth and environmental protection, improvements in our educational system.
  • Tempest in a teapot.
  • Gore is so full of himself that he thinks he invented everything. He is a mentqal case and the government does not even see it.
  • First of all, I never believed the claim in the first place. Like everything else, partisans twist and turn what their opposition candidate says all the time, both sides. I saw this Internet thing as just that. Personally, however, I put Al Gore to rest, en toto, years ago, and it had nothing to do with the "inventing the Internet" bull. I even sent flowers. :-)
  • He said that during his time in Congress he took the initiative in creating the internet. That is a stupid statement. Just as stupid as when Clinton said "That depends upon what the meaning of the word is is" when asked whether he had sexual relations with Monica, or when Joe Biden said that Obama was the first black male politician who was bright and clean. That last comment should have been labeled as racist, because that's what it was.
