Well, I don't think I'd like European beds then as I like alot of room...just ask my hubby about how I hog the blankets! ha

european bedrooms are much, much smaller. Thus the smaller bed. They have such little rooms and usually the laundry is in the kitchen, like where we would put our dishwashers. It is a combo washer/dryer in one. It is so different.

I think that's good. Cos I'll be going to America at the end of August this year. I was scared their beds may be smaller than our beds.

I think this is in keeping with the space differences between European residences and American residences. Same for the cars versus street size thing. No big deal.

I spend several weeks a year in Europe and several in Asia and I've never noticed a difference. How much different do you claim they are?

Larger beds are more comfortable and two of the main aims of the American consitution are liberty and is the persuit of happiness, I am sure these bed designers are only following the constitution the freedom to spread out in bed would help me feel happy! In Europe you can buy queensized or kingsized double beds. Kingsized European beds are 6' x 6' and Queensized European Beds are 6' x 5'. Exactly how big are these American beds that you are referring too and how do they actually compare in size to ours? Without this information I am not sure your statement has any backing.

If you have seen most UK houses, you would be hard pushed to get a bed any bigger than a standard double into the rooms. Looking at the way things are going over here with the weight gain issues, I would think in another 10 years we will all have the same sized beds, only we will need to jump onto ours to get into the room ; - )
