  • Not up until now. i am pretty sure it will not happen I have already given my notice
  • I was fired when the director and asst director of the non-profit I worked for encouraged us to direct our e-mails through our home accounts, then went in and used that access to read our personal e-mails through our home accounts and discovered I had an interview elsewhere. There were only two employees (including me) there and when my co-worker discovered what happened, she quit. So they ended up with no one but their ridiculous, waste-of-space intern. I was shocked at first and devestated as I have a very serious work ethic, but the reason I was interviewing elsewhere was b/c I had ethical conflicts with their financial conduct as a non-profit, so in the end, I got over it.
  • When I worked in retail - which was oh, so long ago - I got fired for calling in sick on X-mas eve. Serves those retail nazi's right!
  • Yeah. I got fired from a restaurant once. This girl was always a rude and in a foul mood and this one day she kept on saying how everyone had a problem with her because she was black. I told her that it wasn't because she was black, it was because she was a b*tch. They fired me for making a racist comment... go figure!
  • Once. One of my coworkers sold me a pocket knife and I was fired for buying stolen goods. He got jail time for stealing over $6,000 worth of merchandise and got a dishonorable discharge from the marines for selling stolen goods to fellow marines and other coworkers... in total, 12 other people were fired from where I worked for buying things from him as well.
  • I got fired from a bakery once. They kept asking me to get out the whey and I thought they were saying get out the way.
  • I got fired once because I refused to do something someone told me to do, but it was something that was not under their direct control and they were not allowed to change with out someone else's permission. I even explained why wasn't supposed to change what they asked but they insisted that they were my superior. So, ultimately I was fired because they were an influential person and raised a huge ruckus about not following orders, even though my direct boss agreed with my actions.
  • I was a telemarketer and I refused to call customers during the supper hour, so I faked the calls and crossed people off my list.
  • Nope. Quit a few tho!
  • No I have never been fired from a job - I've quit good ones that I know regret
  • I worked in a Wal*Mart Deli and was caught in the cooler eating a rotisserie chicken that had an expired shelf life instead of throwing it away which was the store policy.
  • I did get fired once. I still am bummed to have been fired! I was bartending and I had learned it at one of those schools--well, I wasn't little miss speedy I guess you could say. The business owner didn't speak good english, I didn't make fast drinks--it was all bad. I got told when I showed up for work. What a bummer!
  • Nope. I wasn't fired because I made sure my superiors were aware of anything I was doing if it was not on my daily list of duties. That had made for it being easier for me to accomplish work and a greater feeling of respect from my supervisor.
  • Thank you guys for all of your stories. I once got laid off/fired; whatever it was, from Alaska Airlines. I had got hired to become a Fleet attendant, went through the training classes for 2 weeks, and was really enjoying it too. They let me go, because I quess I was not folding their blankets the proper way and maybe I wasn't fast enough. I cried.......but I got over it eventually.
  • I have never been fired from a job- but I've onyl had one job so far, so that's not too impressive of an achievement.
  • I got fired from McDonald's when I was younger... I had 3 or 4 pages of write-ups for tardiness.. Then the management changed personnel and decided they didn't want my tardy ass there anymore! Good riddance!
  • yes, because my boss was threatened by me, it was sheer hell, I had just sat big exams for hematology, passed with 2nd highest mark in NZ, and then got fired, I went through some very traumatic emotional times, still, it makes you stronger in the end ! >......
  • No, I've been threatened to be written up, though.
  • No, never been fired. I always thought it would be kind of fun though, to try and get fired on purpose if you hated the job and knew it wouldn't jeopardize future employment opportunities.
  • No, I keep my job as a Pro Football Player. I'm the Right Guard for the Rams.
  • Yes I have been fired, and if I could do it all over I would go back and sue their pants off. I worked at a large vehicle plant and make really good money. I had a miscarriage and they told me I could take off to rest and recover, I took off a week and half because I had to have 2 D&Cs. About a month later they came back and said I had no rights to a leave and they counted all the time against me and fired me for going over my hours.
  • I have been fired from two jobs. The first one was as a cook at restaurant. I was hired as a line cook. However, I could not multitask well enough for that job. So, they moved me back to the prep kitchen. Unfortunately, that meant that they had too many prep cooks. I don't speak Spanish and that was all that the other prep cooks spoke. So, guess who got let go. The second job from which I got fired was working as a telephone pollster. Unfortunately, I was not able to meet my quota for completed surveys. Therefore, I was once again fired. In neither of these instances do I hold hard feelings for my former employers. In both cases I was not able to do the job as they needed it to be done. While I was disappointed to lose both of those jobs, I can't say that being fired was unexpected. I knew that I was not performing up to the needed standards. So, in both cases, they did that which was right for the company.

  • Yes, for asking explanation to an unexplained thing!
  • Not yet anyways
  • Nope, but I quit one before they got a chance.
  • More than a few times, but I was still the only one who out-worked everybody else.
  • No but,I've sacked my employer.
  • After the company was taken over I lost all motivation and after failing to convince the new management to do things my way, I kinda stopped doing things. They ignored any agreements I had with my former boss which pissed me off. After a while I stopped going there and well suprise: I was "let go"
