NO= I NEVER TRIED TO COMPETE WITH MY MOTHER. I KNOW BETTER. BUT I LEARNED HOW TO COOK, FIRST TRIAL AND ERROR, THEN WENT TO CHEF'S SCHOOL, BUT NOW ONLY COOK FOR ME, UNLESS A GET TOGETHER AT WORK. THEN I HAVE TO MAKE EXTRA FOR AT HOME, BECAUSE I NEVER EVER BROUGHT ANYTHING I MADE HOME. THEY KNOW WHAT TO EAT.

I'd never own up to that of course, but i have had her seal of approval on some things i have cooked for her, so i am chuffed with that.

Yes my mom can cook the best roast with brown gravy & mine just can't touch it. My grandma made the best fried chicken too & I can't even go there.

My lasagna definitely doesn't compare. It's really frustrating, because my sister's tastes just like our mom's. Perhaps I'll have to actually watch Mom make it sometime instead of just trying to figure it out with a couple hints from her.
