  • Completely contradictory. Capitalism doesn't create wealth by consumption.
  • It could. Things like unemployment, inability to afford education or health care etc. all create situations where people can't afford to buy stuff, so providing things like universal education, health care and benefits to tide over periods of unemployment do tend to produce a society that can keep its economy going better. Having said that, the aims of socialism is to keep society strong. Its effects on capitalism are more of a side effect.
  • they are complimentary if you leave capitalism without some socialism you will get another french revolution . i am not sure we need to consume more i am happy we are in regression wa can all live better with less ( that is for those on more than 5 uds per day )
  • Also, asking the government for a bailout is the exact opposite of capitalism.
  • Simplification makes large calculations wrong. Edit: I'm sorry I keep posting my comments as answers, I'm getting used to the structure of the site.
  • Socialism > Capitalism It's easy to understand, which makes it sad why people can't get it...
  • i do absolutely agree with what you said in the question, you explained it perfectly in the premise another thing is that in pure capitalism is that the rich become super rich, minimum wage is abolished and the wealthy rule everything. regulations are extremely important, which is a form of socialism to insure that the rich dont rule completely and the middle class thrives. i agree
