• A nice steam bath should help loosen things up. Simply take a steaming bowl of water (be careful!) and lean of it while drapping a towel over your head. Breath in the steam, you can even put some vicks in there too...Drink plenty fluids to "get things" moving. Hot tea is good.
  • Elevate your hydration level! This can have a very similar effect to a decongestant cough medicine, and has no side effects.
  • Sometimes I will put a few cough drops in my tea pot and when it starts to whistle I open the spout and take nice deep breaths of the steam do it for about 15 to 20 mins. You will feel like you have to cough. Do it, and let the junk come up. Eucaliptus tea will help you keep it loose and help you feel better. If your throat gets sore try kava kava root tea it has a numbing effect that's works as well as some perscription meds for numbing your throat
