  • I don't know. I don't think it is completely dead, but certainly suffering greatly. I remember my parents and grandparents sitting and talking a lot with friends and family. I loved sitting in on those. I had on Uncle who was so interesting I enjoyed hearing him tell stories and talk about things. Also, there is nothing better than sitting around a campfire and having a good conversation, beats the hell out of TV.
  • It is alive and well and flourishing....perhaps in private more than in the public arena. When people get out in front of cameras or on the internet, the lure of "15 minutes of fame" is too much for some so their level of conversation devolves into inflammatory sound bites. But among "real" people, good conversation is among the many benefits of being with family/friends. Happy Saturday! :) ((hugs))
  • Plutarch said, "A constant friend is a thing rare and hard to find." I believe that the same holds true for good conversation. But when that clicking occurs, it's a truly wonderful gift!
  • Most people I know, do it very well. Others I have met, either personally or on line, can become rude and abusive for no reason, as though the only reason they engage with others is so they can attempt to drag them down to their own pathetic level.

  • Mobile telephones! They always ring and take priority over conversing with the person in fron of you.
  • It exists .. here and there. But these days, seems you have to hunt for it. Something I value highly, btw. :)
