You've probably just shot yourself in the foot by getting a new motherboard. Chances are that you bought an OEM licence for Windows, and that means you're not allowed to change things like your motherboard without buying a new Windows licence. Windows OEM licences live and die with the original hardware. http://ladylicensing.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!87F95F1B5B21B01E!370.entry So, assuming you have either a Full Boxed Product Windows licence and media or other non-OEM licence, its time to reinstall. Unlike other operating systems, Windows also can't handle it technically if you change the hardware too much (as you have now found out).

By default you can install windows OS 5 times before you have to call Microsoft and ask for a new key, you can tell them your system crashed and you need a new one, most times they will work with you. AS for your issue: connective could well be the problem here I would take case to safe area open up ans using static strap start checking every thing you did for being in right place, connection tight such as memory(if this is just a little lose could be issue) check jumpier on harddrive right place, and this may sound strange but if standoffs on board are to tight(they only need to be just snug)this can make board tweaked and act funny Also if this isn't issue and its the fact that you are trying to load OS be sure in BIOS to set CD-rom to boot first while loading and then change back to harddrive as your first item when your done other wise will not boot right.
